How to Change Your Life

As an experienced self-development specialist, I have heard many times this statement from people I work with, “I see cycles and patterns persist in my life that I don’t like, and I don’t know how to stop them.

My response is, there is no way to stop life experiences, we can only change how we greet those experiences. We can change the usual reaction by living mindfully aware. Though this statement is short and sweet, the practice of responding versus reacting, this skill is a journey for your lifetime. The first step in this journey is being able to recognize patterns as they show up and choosing to not react in your usual way. Once you see the cycle, you have the power to step back and see the situation for what it is, without judgment. You can choose to change your emotions at that moment, and have the opportunity to change your mindset; therefore, your behavior in response.

I have found empowerment in this awareness and celebrate the power that lies within me to break cycles and patterns before they become toxic and debilitating. I am grateful for the peace this lifestyle has given me, and you too can experience such peace.
