I believe mediumship and intuition aren’t a gift reserved for a chosen few, both are abilities that can be developed with practice, discernment, and trust.

My mission is simple:

Help people trust themselves, trust Spirit, and remember they are far more intuitive than they’ve been led to believe.

Rev. Shelley Leggett is an ordained Spiritualist minister, spiritual mentor, and founder of The Magical Medium, where she helps people trust themselves and trust Spirit without fear, gatekeeping, or spiritual performance. Known for her grounded, no-BS approach to intuition, grief, healing, and personal transformation, Shelley believes spirituality should be practical, empowering, and accessible to everyday people.

Although many people first find Shelley through her work as a professional medium, her passion extends far beyond connecting people with their loved ones in Spirit. Her life’s work centers on helping people reconnect with themselves, strengthen their intuition, navigate life’s most difficult transitions, and recognize the emotional patterns that may have been quietly shaping their lives for generations.

Drawing from years of experience working with clients and students around the world, Shelley teaches intuition, spirit communication, energy awareness, and practical spiritual development through mentorship, online programs, workshops, and community. Her teaching style blends compassion, humor, honesty, and real-world practicality, creating a safe space for people to ask difficult questions and explore their spirituality without judgment.

Shelley’s chapter in The Wellness Universe Guide to Complete Self-Care: 25 Tools for Transformation shares one of the most personal realizations of her own healing journey: that some of the grief we carry may not have begun with us. Through her story and the practical tool she offers, she invites readers to examine inherited emotional patterns with curiosity, compassion, and hope, reminding them that healing ourselves has the potential to change generations to come.

Before becoming a full-time spiritual teacher, Shelley spent nearly three decades in software and publishing, where logic wasn’t optional—it was how she was wired. Two plus two always had to equal four, every problem had a process, and everything needed a rational explanation.

Then Spirit came along and politely ignored all of those rules.

Today, that analytical background is one of the reasons students connect so deeply with her teaching. She understands what it’s like to question everything, because she did too. That’s why one of the things you’ll hear her say most often is, “If I can learn to trust Spirit, so can you.”

When she’s not teaching or writing, Shelley can usually be found spending time with her family and cats, enjoying a good cup of tea, or reminding people that they are far more intuitive—and far more resilient—than they’ve been led to believe.
