I think I have always been a mermaid. For as long as I can remember, I have loved the sea, returning time and time again to the deep waters to soothe my soul and bring peace to my heart. Like a rip tide, Anais Nin's quote, "I Must Be A Mermaid. I have no fear of depths and a great fear of shallow living,” gripped me and never let me go. And so with those words as my guiding light, I began to dive deeply into my heart and soul, seeing that life is much like the ocean, a constant ebb and flow, and that we are in perpetual transformation.
I have been writing and dancing my whole life, the fluidity of words and movement as much a part of me as the flow of my breath. Over the years I have taught theatre, creative movement, dance, and film. I was a Guest Artist for the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts’ Imagination Celebration, and a Guest Lecturer at Harvard Law School. I worked in the film and television industry for over 20 years as a Casting Director, Development Executive, and Producer. For the past several years I have concentrated on my literary career as a writer, freelance editor, and writers coach, and facilitated writing groups and screenwriting workshops. I have experience in Yoga, Alexander Technique, Lessac Voice, and Somatic Movement, and am a certified Nia White Belt teacher.
Part inspirational writer and part deep sea soul diver, I immerse myself in the realms of my heart and soul, swimming and giving voice and expression to all the tides, currents, and waves of life's deepest waters.
I live on the island of Martha's Vineyard with my husband and three children.
