LMTV #222: From Conflict to Connection (Marisa Ferrera)

17 May 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm

No matter how fabulous your relationships might be, there’s a good chance that you’ll have to deal with some type of conflict sooner or later. For most people, the idea of conflict tends to bring up negative images and ideas, which leads to conflict avoidance. This is understandable, but the reality is that conflict is not inherently destructive—on the contrary, conflict can actually be a powerful catalyst for creativity.

All conflict starts with a difference of perspective or opinion. Since most people seem pretty attached to their beliefs and opinions (thanks to the power of the ego-mind), they also tend to want to defend their positions. It is ultimately this defensiveness that leads to some of the more unpleasant aspects of conflict that we seek to avoid.

For this episode of Life Mastery TV, I’ve invited back my friend and colleague, Marisa Ferrera, to join me in a conversation about how we can shift from conflict back to connection. Here are some of the points we plan to discuss:

* What is Conflict?
* What’s Beneath Every Conflict
* Learning from Our Triggers
* Communication Landmines to Avoid
* Steps to Transform Conflict into Connection

While conflict is an inevitable part of life, it needn’t be a destructive force that pits people against each other. In fact, it can be a catalyst for greater understanding, cooperation, and enhanced relationships. The key is to embrace conflict as a natural part of life and learn how to find solutions to problems that honor everyone involved.
