Seeing the Truth in the Present Moment

Learning to accept a situation or experience as it is in the present moment is one of the most difficult mindful principles to apply in life. This acceptance does not mean that you like what is happening or give your consent to a compromise of values or beliefs. Nor does it mean you should stop trying to break free of destructive patterns or behaviors.

It requires that you do not deny what is true. You see it for what it is. It is from this mindful awareness you can use the power in the present moment to influence the outcome by your response. You are better able to know what to do because you can clearly see what is happening.
