Gabrielle Pullen holds a Pan-European MFA Degree in Fiction, with an additional 18 credit hours from Minnesota State University, where she obtained her Teaching Certification in Rhetoric and Composition. She has 18 years of related teaching experience as an independent instructor at community colleges and professional schools, and is currently looking for an academic teaching job in first-year composition. While developing online curricula founded in Composition Studies, she seeks innovative ways to inform other kinds of writing pedagogy, including the basics of first-year composition, but also creative writing and journaling. Tutoring in college test prep for C2 Education (a 3-1 student/teacher ratio) has given her almost two years to test her innovative teaching concepts with live students whose scores show the positive results her methodology as an English teacher produces. Her historical novel, The Witches of East Lothian, was recently selected as a semi-finalist for the 2017 novel-in-progress William Faulkner – William Wisdom Creative Writing Competition.
