Bio

Gillian Hood, MS, ICF-PCC, NBC-HWC

Gillian Hood, a certified Intuitive Eating counselor & eating disorder recovery coach, supports women in breaking free from challenging relationships with food, movement, and their bodies. Her clients reclaim the freedom that diet and wellness culture took away, allowing for a peaceful relationship with food and a compassionate relationship with their bodies, grounded in body respect.

“Your body is on your side! Instead of fighting it, you can partner with your body to establish a mutually beneficial relationship,” she says. Clients trust her because she has experienced and recovered from similar food and body issues that led to the creation of her proven Mind-Body Mutual Trust approach, which she has used with hundreds of clients worldwide.

In addition to her two decades of work in disordered eating and body image challenges, she’s recently added eating disorder recovery coaching (her personal experience includes recovering from Binge Eating Disorder and Orthorexia). She has a special interest in working with clients to improve their relationship with movement, having experienced both compulsive exercise and movement resistance prior to her own recovery.

Gillian is a multi-certified Health and Wellness Coach and has served as a mentor to other coaches and provided continuing education in the health coaching field. In addition, she holds a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology and is a certified exercise physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM EP-C).

Her work is trauma-informed, aligned with Health at Every Size® principles, and rooted in anti-diet and non-diet approaches. A lifelong learner, she’s certified as a Body Trust® specialist and a certified iMove® provider. Her extensive experience allows her to work with clients struggling to break free of chronic dieting, disordered eating, and body image challenges, as well as a range of clinical eating disorders.
