Hope is necessary for optimal health and quality of life.
Bio

Teri Robert is a leading patient educator, patient advocate, and author, primarily in the field of Migraine and other Headache Disorders. When her own Migraines became chronic and threatened to overtake her life, Teri began a search for answers and successful treatment. That search turned into a new career helping other patients.

She currently writes educational, support, and advocacy content for Remedy Health Media's Migraine site on the HealthCentral Network as well as writing for her own blog and web sites. Her first book, Living Well with Migraine Disease and Headaches, was published by HarperCollins.

Teri is a co-founder and the current chair of the American Headache and Migraine Association and a co-founder of the Alliance for Headache Disorders Advocacy.

Teri strongly believes that hope is an essential element in managing any disease as it impacts the attitudes with which patients approach treatment and give them strengh to persevere while exploring treatment options. She works to convey this philosophy of hope:

To live well with Migraine disease, we must choose to life a "glass-half-full" life and always, always, hold on to HOPE.

She also strongly believes that:

Optimal health care can be achieved only when patients are educated about their health, and patients and physicians work together as treatment partners in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
